End of Program Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the Associate Degree Nursing Program, the graduate will be expected to:
- Individualize the nursing process to promote patients’ optimal health across the life span.
- Provide safe, quality nursing care competently with patients who have acute and chronic health problems in a variety of settings.
- Prioritize evidence-based nursing care and health promotion characterized by caring, critical thinking, and sensitivity for diversity.
- Adapt communication to establish therapeutic relationships with patients and their families/significant others.
- Function as a member of the health care team to collaboratively manage the care of groups of patients.
- Demonstrate professional behaviors and attitudes in the management of care, the provision of care, and as a member of the discipline of nursing.
- Practice nursing according to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards for the registered nurse.
End of Program Outcomes
The Associate Degree Nursing Program uses the following outcomes to demonstrate evidence of achievement:
- Graduates will pass the NCLEX-RN® the first time taken at a rate equal to or above the state and national pass rates.
- 50% of students entering the program will graduate from the program on time (5 semesters ADN and 3 semesters Transition Nursing).
- 70% of students entering the program will graduate within one and one-half times the length of the program (7 semesters ADN and 4 semesters Transition Nursing).
- 85% of graduates will be employed in nursing or in school within 9-12 months of graduation.
